2025 the good and the not so good

 

Merry Christmas to all you who check here on occasionally 

Yeah it’s been more than o year since posting 

I have followed you and appreciate and love your sharing with us

It’s been a mostly wonderful year

A and I traveled the word

The Amazon in January 

St Augustine in June 

Norway and Iceland in July

Mexico, Panama, Ecuador Peru and chile

Besides travel we grew in love with each other 

We were supposed to be cruising from Greece to Venice the day after Christmas but alas

On dec 13, I came home from running an errand only to discover A lying on the floor 

She died

My heart is broken

My soulmate is gone 

She was the world to me and encouraged me to explore my femininity 

She was buried in a beautiful black and red lace dress and her favorite Wolford stockings 

 Please keep us in your prayers 

 A is always full of surprises 

Unbeknownst to me, She ordered a few bras off the internet. No big deal.  But then she said,

Do you want to try on these bras I ordered?

.  They don’t support me as I want but they may be perfect for you.

They were, but I had her send them back.  It,s the thought that counts more than anything.

I also had her try on a new balconette I order. 

It looked fabulous on her.  But not what she wanted

No problem. It fits me fine

Update

She did not return the bras after all

Hurray, they are wonderful

Panic

 I had rotator cuff surgery a few weeks ago.

Yesterday, my physical therapist noticed my stitches were inflamed and need to come out now and not wait until my appointment next week.  The Dr however wasn’t in so I resigned myself to wait.

However, my therapist did not forget and got me an appointment for today, which was great. But I had to go now.  And then I remembered I was wearing my powder blue lace panties.  

Panic

I could go home and change to boy underwear but  I would be late, so I “manned” up.

I went to the appointment,  took off my shirts and tighten the belt on my pants so they wouldn’t slip

And all was right with the world. No worries

Yes I’m still here

 I know I don’t post often 

Just not a lot happens in my life that’s  share worthy

But last week i had to have a chest X-ray  as a preop for surgery later sthis month

I was told to face the wall and press my nose against the wall

All I could think of was “what was I being punished for now” 😂

If they only knew how happy I was and what I was thinking 

I am one happy gurl

Anniversary surprise

 It was our anniversary this week. 

I bought her flowers, a book and another nice gift

She got me earrings. Beautiful dangling earrings. 

I cried. I love her so 

Vacation surprise

 Well, we took a cruise to Antarctica. 

Had a great time. Icebergs penguins, seals whales.  A trip of a lifetime.

But what made it really exciting happened back in our cabin.

Before we went to breakfast, Lady A was blow drying her hair in the cabin, not the bathroom.

Well, there was a lot of steam. And evidently, the smoke alarm was having none of it.

And off it went. 

They don’t ignore smoke alarms on a ship.

Even though A waved the steam away and the alarm stopped, they get notified on the bridge and the fire control center.  Almost immediately, there was knock on the cabin door.  firefighters to assess the situation.  I’m glad they react that quickly.  Checked the smoke detector and advised her to use the ship provided hair dryer instead of hers. 

Where was I? Reclining on a semi hidden sofa, in my long pink nightgown.   Just bottom of the nightgown and legs sticking out. Never had a chance to move or change clothes. The fireman never looked around the corner nor inspected the rest of the cabin.  Just the alarm. But for a moment, my heart pounded much louder than the door knock or alarm. Made for a memorable moment. Whew.

Golf anyone?

 I was playing golf earlier this year and came upon this beautiful image.

What’s in a name?

I'm almost positive that most of the world only know us by the names selected by our parents, our given names. Yet, in private, we are known also by names that reflect who we are, or wish we could be. A name that we have chosen. 

 It's a choice we don’t take lightly, I’m sure. 

Why do I mention this? Well, my chosen name, Marciann, is slightly unusual.

What made me choose this name instead of, Ellie, Julie, Katie,  Debbie, Jill  or even Marci, names I did consider?  

It was actually an easy choice.  Marciann was the name of my great, great grandmother. If I were born female, it would have been my given name. It was simple as that.

I think it might be interesting to hear how we chose our names.

Haven’t really had much to post about lately, or ever,

But I do have a few things to share.

1. Thanks Karrie, I’m overwhelmed by what you are doing for Sara and those of us who follow her.

2.  It s tough to do shopping locally as I routinely run into people I know.

But I wanted to get a robe to match my nightgown and a set of pretty pajamas as A was out of town.

Well, good fortune smile on me because after all, Valentine’s Day is coming, so like Christmas no one suspects anything except I’m buying gifts for her

I did find this pajama set

And a pink robe to match

The clerk said,  “oh getting a jump on Valentine’s Day”

To which I could only reply

You know it.

If he only knew

 

It feels so good

Wearing this gives me a heart on or two…. Okay many

Pink lipstick

 

The maid (me) was busy cleaning on Saturday. A was going to the store and asked if I needed anything.

On a lark, I said “Maybe some pink lipstick to match my headband”

She laughed and headed to the store.  When she returned, she handed me the lipstick.

I did not expect her to actually buy it.  When I asked why, A said,”the maid is doing a great job. She deserves a reward.”

I smiled, ran to the bedroom, applied the lipstick,  returned  and gave her big kiss.

Life is good

No Training wheels followup

 The shoes I purchased were a bit tight

So I returned them. But I did order  beige and black heels wide

They fit marvelous and so comfortable 

I love wear them 

I started to wear them when vacuuming.  Just like a good housewife

Some miscellaneous items since my last post

A lot has happened since I last posted

Nothing earth shattering but growth in A's “acceptance”  all in a good way

Here's some highlights.

1:  I went shopping in one of those discount discount stores and as I was looking around at the meager selection of clothes … lo and behold.  I spotted a housekeeper/ maids dress

Light gray, buttons all the way down the front, large front pockets

Perfect for my Saturday morning cleaning 

There was no size and it's not like I could hold it up or try it on but it looked about right

So I bought it for the grand price of 1 dollar.

It’s just what I was looking for.

2: before I start my cleaning routine. I set the pandora channel to Steve and Edie Gorment.

It’s nice to clean to as I dream of being a 50’s housewife and I get a chuckle when A comes out from wherever she is when she hears the music and says. “Oh good, the maid is here”

3 We were going through some of our stuff. when we got the her jewelry,  we sat and discussed what items she wanted to keep and what she was going to get rid of.  In the process, she said , “I don’t want this but it try it on, I think it would look great on you” so now I have my own jewelry 

And finally for this post:

4: We go to the big city every couple months to see a show and have an overnight stay.

It’s always nice especially since it’s the only time I can wear a camisole/ bralette and hosiery without socks due to the nature of my work

after the show and drinks at the hotel bar, we go up and I change into something nice … a brand new dress maybe

She is already dressed pretty in heels and stocking for the show

And we sit and chat and do what adults do.

It was and always is nice. Especially now that I do dress.

We went to see the show Wicked this last Thursday,

I was going to wear a green shirt (team Elphaba)

A said “Are you kidding me?  You’re 100% Glinda. And you know it”

I dressed after the show in my new little black dress, a black choker with a pearl, earrings and 4” black heels.

It was grand. She had to go away for the weekend but tonight she said “I meant to tell you how pretty you looked Thursday”  I was overwhelmed 

I love her so much

Another unexpected comment

Conversation from last Friday night

You don’t have an appointment tomorrow morning (Saturday) do you?  

No why?

I just want to make sure the maid shows up.

She got some cleaning to do! (With a wink and smile)

Yes madam, I understand.

She’ll be there right on time.

… And she was, thank goodness 

A little too close for comfort

 I’m getting a little too careless in my purchasing.

I was at the local department store looking at the new spring dresses. While I was there I saw a skirt that would go perfect with a blouse I purchased a while back on line. It was marked 75% off. Even better

So I go to the checkout line which, due to staffing shortages, was pretty long.

As I was standing there, I looked in the distance and saw a friend, from church non the less, and her daughter also shopping for dresses. I don’t think they saw me with my skirt. They were far enough away.

But I hightailed it to the other side of the store to another cashier.

I was not gonna pass on that skirt.

Note to self:  situation awareness is a must for sissies 

Well that was unexpected ( in a great way)

I was sick with Covid for two weeks so my housewife duties,cleaning laundry etc were put on hold as I recovered 

But this week, I was back in my housekeeping uniform and ready to tackle the house

As I was cleaning, my  Lady A, out of the blue, said,

“we should get you a new nightgown”

I’m gonna say no to that   Umm no

I was in shock 

But happy

we went to the store on Saturday at 8:30pm

They were closed already. What a hick town I live in

But we returned on Sunday

Picked out the new pink nightgown. Which also by the way is the same one she has but in aqua

(she’s not into pink like me)

while we were there. we did more shopping for her spring  wardrobe 

I picked out for her

Three dresses 

A new skirt

Four new tops 

( I have much better taste in clothes than she has)

And the best part

We’re the same size

More clothes for me

even better,

We had a fashion show that night.

I made her wear wolfords and heels while trying on on the new clothes 

None of this half ass stuff for me

And I got dressed too in my wolfords and heels

Tried on some dresses for her that she didn’t know that I fit into of hers

Pretty funny when she said 

“You look better in that dress than I do”

She’s much prettier. But she’s right. I did

And I walk better in heels than she does 

Practice practice practice

All her new clothes do fit me. 

That’s one way to expand my wardrobe

I'm on cloud nine tonight.

Never in my wildest dreams would I ever imagine being referred to on anybody's blog.  But to have Sara mention me, call me a friend, and  reference our short chat is beyond anything this little girls mind can comprehend.

I need to find a word to describe how i feel about her.  

I want to say Love.  but that word is reserved solely for Sara and Emily.  as it should be!!!!!

I'll keep thinking about it.
